Basic Functions :
A computer system comprises of software and hardware components. Hard ware refers to the Physical parts of the computer system and software is the set of instruction or programs that are necessary for the functioning of a computer to perform certain task.
Applications of computer:
1. Data processing :
The carrying out of operations on data to retrieve, transform, or classify information.
2. Numerical computing :
This is the study of algorithms that use numerical approximation (as opposed to general symbolic manipulations) for the problems of mathematical analysis (as distinguished from discrete mathematics).
3. Text processing
The manipulation of text, especially the transformation of text from one format to another.
4. Message communication
Message processing logic is a fundamental part of a physical Web service architecture. It typically exists as a combination of parsers, processors, and service agents, many of which are provided by the run time environment.
5. Image processing
The analysis and manipulation of a digitized image, especially in order to improve its quality.
6. Voice recognition
Computer analysis of the human voice, especially for the purposes of interpreting words and phrases or identifying an individual voice.
